The Word says that “no man can come to me except the Father draw him.” John 6:44 and in 1 John 4:19 that “we loved him because He first loved us.” This sermon looks in detail on various ones God called during Jesus’ ministry, such as Nathanael, the Israelite in whom there was no guile, Simon who was prophetically given the name Peter on his first meeting with Jesus. Zacchaeus who just wanted a glimpse of the master whom he had never seen, but when Jesus came by, he called him by name. The woman at the well who Jesus told her life story to. Upon meeting these people who God called, Jesus did some remarkable things to show God’s calling. 1) He told Nathanael what he was just doing. 2) He prophesied a name change to Peter. 3) He knew Zachaeus’ name and said he was going to have dinner at his house. 4) He knew the life story of a Samaritan woman. The four that we have just mentioned were searching for Messiah and God answered their prayers.
