What is the Apostle Paul’s lesson with these statements?

Col 1:24  Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body’s sake, which is the church:

Heb 13:12  Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.
Heb 13:13  Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.

  1. its saying that faithful followers of Christ must be afflicted as He was, suffer as He did, sacrifice our lives as He did – if we want to future glory with Him. You dont get to heaven by saying you are a believer. You get to heaven by giving up your earthly life in sacrifice and DOING as Jesus did.
