God “girded” Cyrus in two ways: (1) He gave Cyrus supernatural power in overcoming his enemies. (2) God prepared Cyrus as a child and fashioned him for his future work; He trained him for his position as general and renowned conqueror. Not only was God’s providence over the victories Cyrus later attained, but that providence operated from his earliest youth—even from his baptism, as it were, when he was given the name Cyrus. Thus God’s remarkable foreknowledge was displayed 150 years before the events occurred.

During the permission of evil, God has been exercising His great power of the universe with the one exception of planet Earth, where His power is exercised only within certain limits. For example, not one of the consecrated can die before it is his or her time. With regard to the public at large, God’s will is not recognized as being done on earth, yet He is aware of all that happens. When He reigns forever and ever, the exercise of His will on earth will be recognized.

Part 2: The Samaritans: There was a great deal of prejudice between Jewry and the Samaritans. We see in the scriptures below, the Jews had no dealings with the Samaritans because they did not feel they were legitimate Jews. Their is thought that they were half breeds so to speak, not full blooded Jews. The Samaritans themselves thought of themselves as Jews, because they had Abraham as their father also. But since we know the Jesus himself went and testified to the Samaritans and converted them, he considered them Jews, even if the rest of the nation did not. Because of the extreme prejudice it was necessary for Jesus himself to approach the Samaritans.

The verse by verse study of Chapter 6 of Amos was taken from the literal natural fulfillment. We have answered this question taking it from a spiritual perspective.

Eliakim would take Shebna’s place. Eliakim is called the Lord’s “servant” and “a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah.” Eliakim pictures Jesus, who will be the age-lasting Father in the Kingdom and have “the key of the house of David” (the key to the government). Jesus is the “David,” that is, the Beloved.
There was a real Shebna and a real Eliakim, but this language is so strong for relatively insignificant people that we know they are a type. The principle is the same with Zerubbabel, who pictures Jesus.

Ezekiel tells us that a sixth of this host will survive the destruction (their purpose being to bury the dead and go back to their homeland to tell the great miracles of the Lord and that He fought for Israel and saved them. It will take 7 months to bury the dead.
There are many other things that happen at this time, with the Ancient Worthies (Hebrews 11)being resurrected and in power (fathers will become princes–Psa 45:16) They will be the visible government for Jesus and his Bride who are of the Divine Nature like God. But that is another study.

The Office for Israeli Constitutional Law, a non-governmental legal action organization, sent a letter to US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton last week, warning that by labeling Jewish settlements in the West Bank illegal, she is violating international law.
The little-known Anglo-American Convention, a treaty signed by the US and British governments in 1924, stipulated that the US fully accepted upon itself the Mandate for Palestine, which declared all of the West Bank within its borders.

This message, “Come out of her, my people,” is not to those who are still blind in Babylon; hence it is not the first message to be given out at the present time. The light, the truth, the divine plan of the ages, is to be let shine; the errors of Babylon on various points are to be shown, and how these are dishonoring to God: then it is that the voice of the truth, the voice of these facts, will cry aloud to all who are truly the Lord’s sheep, to separate themselves from such misrepresentation of the divine character and plan, in heart, in person, in purse.

The practical import of all this is, that we sin not, keeping the body under subjection to the law of the spirit, the new nature in Christ Jesus, and so bring forth fruit unto holiness. This kind of dying is indeed a painful process, but it is a voluntary sacrifice which is required…. “Ye are not your own, ye are bought with a price, therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are His.” He is Lord and Master we are called upon to admit his claims, and thus be at agreement with God. “Be ye reconciled to God,” may be applicable to the unconverted, but it was addressed to Christians. See 2 Cor. 5:20

ACCUSTOM yourself to think vigorously. Mental capital, like pecuniary, to be worth anything, must be well invested–must be rightly adjusted and applied, and to this end, careful, deep and intense thought is necessary if great results are looked for.
