Genesis chapter 18:23 what’s the name of the three who met Abraham?

Their names are not given, I believe so as not to distract from the message being given to Abraham, as well as the typical lessons to us.

Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. (Heb 13:2)

The scripture above must certainly have been something Father Abraham held dear to his heart. Being a man of means, he was very hospitable to strangers. It was not till after the stranger (the leader of the three) gave him the promise of Isaac that Abraham began to catch on that these strangers may in fact be literal angels, or if not, definitely messengers from God.

It is believed and we would certainly concur that the spokesman of the three was our Lord Jesus himself, though it does not say.

We are only given names of a few of the angelic host: Michael, Gabriel, and Lucifer. The reason being: it is not for us to get involved with the angels. They have a job to do and it is not for us to interfere or meddle. We saw what happened in Genesis when angels and mankind mixed. Also thinking too much on the angels might transfer our thinking into worship to them which is strictly forbidden.
