Senate Moves To Allow Military To Intern Americans Without Trial

NDAA detention provision would turn America into a “battlefield”

The Senate is set to vote on a bill today that would define the whole of the United States as a “battlefield” and allow the U.S. Military to arrest American citizens in their own back yard without charge or trial.

“The Senate is going to vote on whether Congress will give this president—and every future president — the power to order the military to pick up and imprison without charge or trial civilians anywhere in the world. The power is so broad that even U.S. citizens could be swept up by the military and the military could be used far from any battlefield, even within the United States itself,” writes Chris Anders of the ACLU Washington Legislative Office.

Under the ‘worldwide indefinite detention without charge or trial’ provision of S.1867, the National Defense Authorization Act bill, which is set to be up for a vote on the Senate floor this week, the legislation will “basically say in law for the first time that the homeland is part of the battlefield,” said Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), who supports the bill.

The bill was drafted in secret by Senators Carl Levin (D-Mich.) and John McCain (R-Ariz.), before being passed in a closed-door committee meeting without any kind of hearing. The language appears in sections 1031 and 1032 of the NDAA bill.

“I would also point out that these provisions raise serious questions as to who we are as a society and what our Constitution seeks to protect,” Colorado Senator Mark Udall said in a speech last week. One section of these provisions, section 1031, would be interpreted as allowing the military to capture and indefinitely detain American citizens on U.S. soil. Section 1031 essentially repeals the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878 by authorizing the U.S. military to perform law enforcement functions on American soil. That alone should alarm my colleagues on both sides of the aisle, but there are other problems with these provisions that must be resolved.”

This means Americans could be declared domestic terrorists and thrown in a military brig with no recourse whatsoever. Given that the Department of Homeland Security has characterized behavior such as buying gold, owning guns, using a watch or binoculars, donating to charity, using the telephone or email to find information, using cash, and all manner of mundane behaviors as potential indicators of domestic terrorism, such a provision would be wide open to abuse.

“American citizens and people picked up on American or Canadian or British streets being sent to military prisons indefinitely without even being charged with a crime. Really? Does anyone think this is a good idea? And why now?” asks Anders.

The ACLU is urging citizens to call their Senator and demand that the Udall Amendment be added to the bill, a change that would at least act as a check to prevent Americans being snatched off the streets without some form of Congressional oversight.

We have been warning for over a decade that Americans would become the target of laws supposedly aimed at terrorists and enemy combatants. Alex Jones personally documented how U.S. troops were being trained to arrest U.S. citizens in the event of martial law during urban warfare training drills back in the 90′s. Under the the National Defense Authorization Act bill, no declaration of martial law is necessary since Americans would now be subject to the same treatment as suspected insurgents in places like Afghanistan and Iraq.

If you thought that the executive assassination of American citizens abroad was bad enough, now similar powers will be extended to the “homeland,” in other words, your town, your community, your back yard.

  1. I really think that this stuff is not for the brethren to pass around because it is a sort of sedition that is not in
keeping with spreading the word of God.
The Lord could very well have fought back against his persecutors, Can we not drink from the cup.
Render Unto Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is Gods’ does not mean to stir up the pot before it is boiling. When faced with the decision it will be the time to make that decision. I feel personally that spreading this is not the way to go.

  2. Thanks for this VERY interesting article. It is this kind of secretly hatched legislataion that demonstrates that fear will drive the civil powers to severely restrict citizen’s liberties. This is what we are expecting according to numerous scriptures.

  3. I don’t know the source of this quote, but this is basically it: ‘You cannot have both an empire and a democracy. Eventually, repression abroad becomes repression at home. America can either lose her empire and retain her democracy, or lose her democracy and retain her empire. We cannot have both’.

I think we all know which one will prevail.

  4. I have been thinking about this for a few days, and so now I have decided to post.

Sedition is a rebellion against government. The purpose of Final Trump in posting the article is to keep Christians aware of what is going on, it is not with any political motives.

We are told to “Watch and Pray” that we be not overtaken unawares. What are we to watch for? The Signs of the Times. We as Christians have messages that God expects us to proclaim, at the right time. If we bury our heads in the sand, and are not aware of what is going on, we will miss our opportunity.

I am a firm believer that opportunities are never lost, they are just given to someone else.

We expect things to happen, we expect a Church-State union–and we believe we have a harsh message to sound just like John the Baptist did, and if it ends in our beheading, then we should answer as boldly as the three Hebrews to King Nebuchadnezzar:

“If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.” (Dan 3:17-18)

We expect Psalm 83 to happen very soon, so we need to be looking for signs that it is happening, and we need to witness to that fact as well.

Just has Ezekiel and Jeremiah and Elijah told of the fall of Babylon and Jezebel, we as their successors must boldly proclaim the fall and destruction of Babylon the Great and that Woman Jezebel–the Anti-Christ system headed by the Papacy.

We expect these things to happen, we are not making them happen, we do not wish for this world to last one moment longer than it has to. No one wants the Great Time of Trouble, but it is coming, it won’t be fun, but if we are not watching, we will not be worthy or able to escape it, it will run us over like a train out of control.

This is the purpose of our posting these events. To show us where we are in time, what still needs to happen and to be prepared. If we don’t observe what is happening, we won’t be prepared.

Or goal in this entire website is to reach out to our brethren, known and unknown throughout the world and wake them up to what is going on and what to expect.

It was the Foolish Virgins that were not prepared, they didn’t have enough oil to make the journey–they lost out.
