The newsletter covers the importance of studying prophetic matters as well as the prophecy about the Fig tree and its application. When the Apostles ask Jesus what is the sign of his coming, one of the answers he gives them is the prophecy about the Fig Tree. By looking at other scriptures, and noting that when he cursed the fig tree and it withered, that was a pronouncement against Israel itself. So now with that in mind when he talks about the “Fig Tree” putting forth leaves, we understand that the curse against Israel is at an end and that God has further use and work for the Nation of Israel.
The fulfillment of prophecy is a strong testimony that the scriptures are from God. When time is included in prophecy, it adds a specificity which is even more impressive. How many unbelievers would be surprised to know that Daniel predicted five centuries in advance the very year of Christ’s baptism, and of his death?
