Rabbi Algaze: Jerusalem is Not the City of 3 Religions

Mar 23rd, 2010 | By | Category: Signs of the Times (click on article name)

“The Jewish People is always going to be hated around the world in one way or another. We had a small lull in anti-Semitic activity following the discovery of the atrocities of the Holocaust, but it is now reawakening. Today’s version is of a new kind, masked as anti-Israel. The world doesn’t condone hating Jews, but feels free to hate Israelis and Israel, which is really the same thing.”

The only religion that has always claimed Jerusalem as its central city throughout history is Judaism. For Islam to claim this city in any sense is totally absurd; they came to Jerusalem as invaders, just as they invaded other parts of the world – this is a ridiculous claim and yet we glorify it.

Acts Chapter 23, 24, 25: Sadducees and Pharisees conspire against Paul, Brought before Felix

Nov 23rd, 2009 | By | Category: Acts, Verse by Verse --Studies led by Br. Frank Shallieu (Click on Book name)

The chief captain, whose name was Claudius Lysias, wrote how the Jews had accused Paul and “laid wait” for him. Evidently, the chief captain contacted the Jews who had been conniving to assassinate Paul, telling them to bring formal charges (if they felt they had any) before Felix, the governor. The short letter may have been recorded word for word because the Romans were noted for their brevity of speech. “Farewell” marked the end of the letter. Incidentally, the Gospel of Mark, written for the Apostle Peter, was set forth in an abbreviated form to appeal to the Romans.

Song of Solomon Chapter 4: Jesus describes his Bride

Nov 11th, 2009 | By | Category: Song of Solomon, Verse by Verse --Studies led by Br. Frank Shallieu (Click on Book name)

Verse 7 means the prospective Bride is without blame on this side of the veil. A “spot” is a particular fault, a flaw. We must wash our robes on a daily basis, asking each day for forgiveness. Those who do not apply for mercy and forgiveness each day develop both wrinkles in their garments (through inactivity and a sleeping condition) and spots. The Great Company have long-term spots that need to be washed. Ephesians 5:26,27 describes the Little Flock: “That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.”

The Community Security Trust (CST), a charity which monitors anti-Semitism in Britain, recorded 609 anti-Semitic incidents across the UK from January to June this year, over double the 276 incidents recorded for the same period last year.

The charity said that this is the worst year since 1984, when records began, and that the number of incidents in the first half of this year is higher than the 598 incidents recorded in all of 2006, during the Second Lebanon War, and the 544 in all of 2008.

President Obama is convinced that appeasing Iran and Syria would make a U.S. withdrawal from Iraq and Afghanistan possible.”

Ezekiel Chapter 38 Gog and Magog

May 16th, 2009 | By | Category: Ezekiel, Psalm 83 and Gog & Magog, Verse by Verse --Studies led by Br. Frank Shallieu (Click on Book name)

God told Ezekiel to prophesy against Gog, the chief prince of the multitudinous host that would come down against Israel. Ezekiel was facing north, signifying that, generally speaking, the peoples comprising the forces of Gog would come from that quarter. Gog is the leading character from the land of Magog, which is Russia. In the homeland of Russia are Meshech (an ancient name for Moscow) and Tubal (Tubalesque formerly, now Leningrad). Notice that the four names, all places in the Russian homeland, are grouped together: Gog, Magog, Meshech, and Tubal. In the USSR, an abbreviation for the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (plural), are some discontented republics who want their autonomy. [Note: As of June 1999, there are still republics, even though the union no longer formally exists.]

May 13th, 2009 | By | Category: Signs of the Times (click on article name)

The owner of a bed and breakfast in the Austrian town of Serfaus refused earlier this month to book rooms to a family because they were Jews.

An Austrian Jew, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he has received threatening e-mails from neo-Nazis, told The Jerusalem Post on Tuesday that Irmgard Monz, the owner of Haus Sonnenhof, a guest house in the Austrian state of Tyrol, wrote in an e-mail to the family that she is “not renting to Jews because of bad experiences.”
