Hosea Chapter 9: The Coming Captivity and Punishment of Ephraim

Mar 23rd, 2010 | By | Category: Hosea, Verse by Verse --Studies led by Br. Frank Shallieu (Click on Book name)

In verses 1-3, Hosea was prophesying that the bulk of the ten tribes would be taken as captives to Assyria, and some would flee to Egypt, where they would be ferreted out and punished. This was the literal, or natural, lesson. In addition, there is the spiritual lesson of the professed Church of Christ going astray into Papacy and the ways of the world. Paganism came into the Church and defiled it. In antitype, the more numerous ten-tribe kingdom pictures Catholicism; the two-tribe kingdom represents Protestantism.

Ladele had been a registrar for 16 years for London’s Islington City Council. But when she refused to perform a homosexual civil union due to her religious beliefs, her employers threatened her with dismissal and purportedly passed confidential employment details about her to a staff LGBT forum.

“It will only serve to reinforce the impression that Christians are being pushed to the sidelines of public life. Our nation’s highest court has effectively told them their concerns are not of general public importance.”

Prince Gijs might have been a wise and benevolent leader – but he is also a homosexual one. That alone was enough for his local church to refuse this atypical nobleman holy communion.

This is where Reusel’s carnival celebrations went awry this year. According to Catholic teaching, people who live in sin are excluded from holy communion. It is public knowledge in Reusel that Vermeulen lives together with his boyfriend. Therefore, father Luc Buyens of the local church told the prince before the ceremony he would receive “a cross on his forehead but no communion wafer”.

First Openly Gay Episcopal Bishop Says St. Paul Was Condemning Homosexual Acts by Heterosexuals

Feb 4th, 2010 | By | Category: Signs of the Times (click on article name)

‘Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. … Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. … Men committed indecent acts with other men and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.’ So my question is, was St. Paul right in—about engaging in homosexual acts as being against nature?”

Then the 55-year-old pastor with spiked gray hair and blue jeans launches into his weekly welcome, a poem-like litany that includes the line “queer or straight here, there’s no hate here.”

Tidd is an outlaw pastor of sorts. His community, less than a year old, is an evangelical Christian church guided both by the Apostle’s Creed and the belief that gay people can embrace their sexual orientation as God-given and seek fulfillment in committed same-sex relationships.

Hate crimes case in Britain should signal a warning to Christians in America

Oct 30th, 2009 | By | Category: Signs of the Times (click on article name)

The legal panel on Foxnews noted that we have the First Amendment, as if to say, a Mrs. Howe here in America is protected under constitutional law. Also, the consensus was that no judge in their right mind would prosecute an old lady whose “intent” was not to harm anyone. I understand this is because of the difficulty in proving someone’s intent, and is a common defense. However, there is a problem with the notion that ‘intent’ would determine the innocence or guilt in a hate crimes case.

“He is a role model to millions, and this legislation will help ensure his legacy lives on forever,” said Geoff Kors,

“Based on the historical record of Milk’s sordid life, this could include teaching elementary and secondary schoolchildren that adult-child homosexual ’sex’ is OK, having multiple sexual relationships at the same time is OK, and telling a very public lie is good if it ‘gets you ahead.’ This instruction, whether taught directly or indirectly, is not what parents want or children need” Thomasson said.
