The dry bones represented the Israelites themselves. As a people they had lost heart, lost hope, and said, “Our strength is dried, and our hope is lost, we are cut off from our parts”—from all tribal and national union. If they looked at their present condition, they were strangers in a strange land, foreigners, without opportunity for patriotic feelings; if they looked backward, and remembered divine intervention on their beha

The incident occurred when a group of more than 100 students from the yeshiva in Beit El spent Shabbat in Jerusalem. As the members of the group were walking from the Western Wall to the Damascus Gate they were attacked by Arab rioters.

For two decades, Israel and the Holy See have been trying to work out disputes over church properties in Jerusalem. One of the few remaining thorns is the Last Supper room. Shmuel Ben Shmuel, an Israeli negotiator, says the talks are at a critical moment.
“The minute they’ll make it as a church, Jews, halachically, according to Jewish law, are forbidden to go in there,” he says. “It’s a disgrace for Israel, you know, it’s like milk spilled that you can never return it back.”

Amos mentioned a literal earthquake that occurred during the reign of King Uzziah (Azariah) of Judah. Zechariah 14:5 refers back to this earthquake, so verse 1 is important for verifying that a future literal earthquake will take place at the end of the present age.

Here is a good example of how we have to grow in our understanding of the deep things of God lest we react like zombies and our minds fail to grasp important details. This principle is especially true with regard to prophetic truths, which are dispensationally understood when the due time comes.

The truth is that Palestine is no more real than Never-Never Land. There has never been a land known as Palestine governed by Palestinians. Palestinians are Arabs, indistinguishable from Jordanians (another recent invention), Syrians, Lebanese, Iraqis, etc.

Several dozen Palestinian women scuffled with Israeli troops on the outskirts of Jerusalem on Saturday amid rising religious and political tensions in the disputed city. At one point, a firebomb hit a military jeep and soldiers rushed to extinguish the fire.
As the women withdrew, Palestinian teens threw stones at soldiers who closed the crossing to traffic.

“After removing a number of archaeological strata, at a depth of 4.5 metres (14.80 feet) below today’s street level, much to our excitement, we discovered the large flagstones that paved the street,” said excavation director Ofer Sion.
The single, central thoroughfare is clearly visible on the Madaba Map, a floor mosaic in the Byzantine church of Saint George in Jordan which is the oldest surviving map of the Holy Land, said Sion, standing on scaffolding above the cracked flagstones.

Category: Daniel, Verse by Verse --Studies led by Br. Frank Shallieu (Click on Book name)
Chapter 1 was written by Daniel in Hebrew. In Chapter 2 and for several chapters, he changed the original writing to Chaldaic, for the Jewish captives, who were with him in Babylon, were schooled in that language. In fact, Daniel, the three Hebrews, and the other captives who were considered intellectuals and men of promise became very learned in the Chaldaic language, especially as they were exalted in office. Those taken captive the third time, when Zedekiah was dethroned, were in Babylon for 70 years. Therefore, Daniel and the three Hebrews were in Babylon for more than 70 years. Incidentally, the 70 years apply to the desolation of the land and the destruction of the Temple and city, and not to the length of the captivity.

The chief captain, whose name was Claudius Lysias, wrote how the Jews had accused Paul and “laid wait” for him. Evidently, the chief captain contacted the Jews who had been conniving to assassinate Paul, telling them to bring formal charges (if they felt they had any) before Felix, the governor. The short letter may have been recorded word for word because the Romans were noted for their brevity of speech. “Farewell” marked the end of the letter. Incidentally, the Gospel of Mark, written for the Apostle Peter, was set forth in an abbreviated form to appeal to the Romans.
